The cottage was basic but clean and comfortable. Meals of local style were served on time and quick. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We took the Minneriya National Park Safari (saw 50 wild elephants very well), Loris Watching (saw 5 loris and a golden jackal in one hour) and Night Safari (saw more loris, elephants, small Indian civet, Asian palm civet, Indian porcupine, Indian hare, spotted deer, white-spotted chevrotain, owl and nightjar). Very good base for natural lovers.

We had the most amazing overall experience during our stay at Back of Beyond!
We stayed in one of their treehouses which was so unique. The property is hidden within the jungle, spotless & the staff were all so friendly.
We also booked the Loris sighting experience & were lucky enough to see two Loris & a civet!
If you are in Sigriya, make this your choice of stay!

This place is incredible! The pictures don’t do the hotel justice. You must stay here, food throughout our stay was fresh and tasty, western style as well as Sri Lankan style. And don’t forget to book a Lorris tour, night time walking through the jungle was amazing! I’d give more starts if I could. P.s, bring an eye shade to help with sleeping, the ASMR of jungle sounds will make sure you sleep right through ❤️😊
