A Wedding Venue Steeped in History and Romance
Where Elegance Meets Heritage in Mgarr, Malta
Nestled in the tranquil countryside of Mgarr and surrounded by lush gardens, Castello Zamittello is a historic wedding venue like no other. Built in 1804 by Sir Giuseppe Nicolo Zammit—a distinguished knight of the Order of St. Michael and St. George—this enchanting Victorian castle was originally conceived as a summer residence and hunting lodge. Today, it stands as a breathtaking symbol of love, legacy, and Maltese heritage.
A Legacy Carved in Stone
Entering the castle, you’ll find more than just grand architecture. Stone carvings bearing initials and wedding dates pay tribute to generations of couples who began their love stories within its walls. The tradition continues to this day, with the last marking commemorating the union of Countess Margaret and Count Francis Manduca in 1957—parents of the current Count and owner.
Celebrate in Timeless Beauty
Castello Zamittello offers couples a romantic and serene setting surrounded by sweeping views, ornamental gardens, and historic charm. Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony or a grand celebration, the venue seamlessly blends elegance with tradition, creating a magical backdrop for your special day.

Went to my brothers wedding here. What a beautiful venue. Food was gorgeous and drinks were reasonably priced. Not the most child friendly place as a lot of stairs and sharp edges on the balconies but still would recommend.

Great venue, lucky enough to enjoy a wonderful wedding reception party until the small hours. The setting is just amazing with room for +100 guest in comfort, with good quality food with waiter service. Dedicated space for a band, disco and plenty of room for dancing.

This place will always hold a special place in my heart. My sister got married here last week. Loved it when it’s nice weather for a big wedding. I was scared of the stairs with my high heels, but I think that’s a problem with every set of steep stairs I come across when I’m im my heels.
