Fantastic service and very nice breakfast with a good selection of different dishes! One of the staff was especially nice and informative, Mr Arun who helped us also with a lot of useful information about the country and what to do in the country. He even brought us a welcoming cake to celebrate our wedding last week 🙂

My first ever review where I find it difficult to mention even one negative thing. My wife & I were surprised with the warmth with which people welcomed us. The old gentleman who checked us in at midnight was very welcoming. Even arranged hot coffee for us at that hour.
And the location; tucked away in a quiet lane close to the lake & just 10mins walking distance from Gangaramaya Temple.
So,as requested I got a cake at midnight to celebrate my wedding anniversary. Breakfast was basic but good. Reception was really helpful. Prasad, gave a lot of info as desired & helped me book a cab to Bentota. The room was very cosy & relaxing. Takes you back to a different era. The entire property was very good& had a homely feel to it.
In the end, kudos to team of Nayantara Fonseka for bringing up Taru Villas Lake Lodge! It’s a home away from home!

We were here for just one night before our flight back to Colombo and couldn’t fault it. The hotel is in a quiet spot, nearby but not right next to the lake. The decor throughout is stylishly minimalist and the bedrooms are very well appointed. Wifi worked well. The food was very good, and the kitchen staff kindly provided a small cake after our evening meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The exclusively male staff were extremely helpful and attentive throughout. We weren’t there long enough to find out, but I guess this hotel is a very good base to explore Colombo for a few days
