Exploring Sri Lanka with Tuktuk Rentals was an adventure of a lifetime! We rented a tuktuk for two weeks to travel across the country, and while we were initially nervous, it quickly turned into one of the most rewarding experiences we could have imagined.
Tuktuk Rentals truly sets the gold standard for customer service—visiting their office feels like attending a masterclass in hospitality.
Our journey started at their office in Negombo on a particularly hot and busy day. Despite the bustling environment, the team of young professionals warmly welcomed us, providing clear updates about the process from start to finish. Their thoughtful gestures, including offering hot or cold drinks upon arrival and treating us to a delicious complimentary lunch while we waited, made us feel genuinely cared for.
As for the tuktuks themselves, they were in impeccable mechanical condition, thoroughly inspected and ready for the road. During our travels, we encountered a minor issue in Trincomalee, but their helpline promptly dispatched a local mechanic who arrived within 30 minutes to resolve it. These resilient machines are a joy to drive, and their durability ensured our journey was stress-free.

The freedom that driving your own tuktuk gives you is fab. Stop where and when you want to. It takes a bit of navigating the busy towns and cities and can race the heart a bit. Learn the hierarchy of vehicles on the road in Sri Lanka and you’re fine.
We also paid extra to have our tuktuk moved from Ella to Dambulla when we took the train and then went hiking in knuckles and this worked well. 3 weeks and 1200km have flown by and we were sad to say goodbye to ABU.
