Meet Mr. Richard Robert
🌴 Born in the picturesque Seychelles in 1983 and raised in Canada, Richard Robert returned to his roots at the age of 13. With a diverse professional background, Richard trained in Customer Service within the Tourism industry and subsequently worked as an Immigration Officer, Senior Customs Officer, Senior Transport Analyst, and Overseas Procurement Officer for Creole Travel Services. Despite his professional achievements, Richard’s heart has always been in the arts. 🎨🎶
The Birth of Unik Shells
🌟 Richard has been an artist and singer-songwriter since the age of 16. In early 2020, during the global lockdowns, Richard found himself in a predicament with his sister’s birthday approaching and no present available due to closed shops. Inspired by some shells he had collected and a photo frame from IKEA, he decided to create a unique, handmade gift. His sister loved the decorated frame, and soon, word-of-mouth spread, leading Richard to establish Unik Shells. 🐚❤️

🌿 Over the past four years, Unik Shells has earned a reputation for crafting exquisite art and jewellery pieces from shells and natural materials found on the serene beaches of Mahe Island and surrounding areas. Committed to sustainability, Richard ensures that no live animals are harmed in the process of beachcombing. 🌊🌿
In March 2024, Richard proudly opened the Unik Shells Gift Shop in Victoria, bringing his creations to a broader audience. 🏝️🛍️
