I recently attended a wedding at DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The wedding hall had a beautiful and calming atmosphere, making it a great venue for such an event. The surrounding environment also added to the charm, creating a peaceful setting.
The food was decent, though I felt there could have been more variety. While the quality was good, a wider selection would have made the experience even better.
The service met my expectations, with the staff being attentive and professional throughout the event. It contributed to a smooth and enjoyable experience.
One drawback was the parking arrangement. The designated wedding car park is located outside the hotel premises, meaning guests have to park their vehicles there and either walk in or use the hotel’s shuttle service. This was a bit inconvenient, as I would have preferred easier access to the venue from the parking area.
Overall, the hotel offers a lovely ambiance for weddings, with good service and decent food, though the parking situation could be improved.

We hosted our 3-day wedding celebration at the Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna, and it was an absolute dream come true from start to finish. The venue itself is breathtakingly beautiful – the gorgeous natural surroundings combined with the elegant resort design provided the perfect, magical backdrop for such a special occasion.
What truly elevated our entire experience was the exceptional staff and service. Even with the hotel operating at full capacity throughout our stay, the level of attention we received was outstanding. Every team member was consistently professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making us and our guests feel incredibly welcome.
A huge, special thanks must go to Induka and Mohan from the events team. They were simply phenomenal to work with. Their organisation, support, and dedication ensured everything across the three busy days ran flawlessly. They expertly handled every detail, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy our celebration.
The catering was another major highlight for us and our guests. The team was incredibly accommodating and flexible, collaborating with us to create distinct, delicious, and varied menus perfectly suited for each of our different events. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the fantastic food!
We wholeheartedly recommend the Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna for any special event, particularly a wedding. It offers that perfect combination: a stunning location, fantastic food, and truly world-class service that results in an unforgettable experience. Best service I have ever had!!!
We stayed for 2 nights recently & had the best experience. The cleanliness of the resort, staff & facilities were perfect.
We witnessed a business event, wedding & event a local youth cricket team all staying during the course of our stay, however despite the hotel being at over 95% capacity it never felt busy – in fact we had sunset drinks on the rooftop bar to ourselves with our friend KobiKhan serving us drinks (he was a legend and really want to praise his service & experience)
The pool & in particular the pool bar were outstanding, Kaveesha made the best cocktails & was also a great man.

When you enter you can feel a royal experience. Most elegant furniture and interior design. Friendly staff members and good service. Green environment surrounded by hotel. Roof top cafe is the best place to be. Amazing sunset view and sunrise view combined with lake view. If you’re interested to celebrate your wedding, this is the best place where you can get a next level wedding experience.
